TITAN, may be our future home.

Fellow Earthlings. Here’s a post from the past. 🙂

This is TITAN,one of the moons of Saturn. What’s so special about this moon?? This is the only place in the solar system, where life may exist(other than ours of course). This whole planet is made of solid ice and raging volcanoes.Oh…that’s just great !! Life will surely exist!!, Hold that thought! On the surface we may not find much, if we look beneath it’s crust of ice there is a large possibility of finding organisms. Not bacteria and stuff but real developed organisms.

Scientists believe that the ice had been there for all long time and we cannot ignore the possibility of life. These organisms might not have a slight similarity to those on Earth. They will surely look alien.

Water content probably be present beneath the crust and one day we will discover our brothers in the neighbourhood! These organisms would have evolved over time and may have developed ways to live in such…

10 Things You Never Knew About The Moon

“There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls.”  ~ George Carlin

People don’t know enough about the moon. Not that it’s specifically important or anything, but honestly, how many times have you looked at the Moon and just moved on without really considering it’s impact on your everyday life? Have you ever wondered: How did the moon get there? What the heck is it made of? How does it stay so perfectly in sync with the Earth? It’s time to answer all those questions and more…here are my top 10 favorite facts about the moon that you probably never knew:

1. The Moon is the largest natural satellite relative to it’s primary planet in the entire Solar System.

The Moon is MASSIVE. Well, on a planetary scale, not so much, but comparatively to most anything we can think of on Earth, it’s pretty stinking…

ALMA Reveals Ghostly Shape of ‘Coldest Place in the Universe’

physics4me

At a cosmologically crisp one degree Kelvin (minus 458 degrees Fahrenheit), the Boomerang Nebula is the coldest known object in the Universe – colder, in fact, than the faint afterglow of the Big Bang, which is the natural background temperature of space.

Astronomers using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) telescope have taken a new look at this intriguing object to learn more about its frigid properties and to determine its true shape, which has an eerily ghost-like appearance.

As originally observed with ground-based telescopes, this nebula appeared lopsided, which is how it got its name. Later observations with the Hubble Space Telescope revealed a bow-tie-like structure. The new ALMA data, however, reveal that the Hubble image tells only part of the story, and the twin lobes seen in that image may actually be a trick of the light as seen at visible wavelengths.

“This ultra-cold object is extremely intriguing…

Papa Black Hole

black hole( an artistic image)

We all know what a black hole is…A big warp in space which could absorb anything in, even light…..Well, what happens after the ‘absorption’ ??
Well you will be stretched up like spaghetti and break. Not a very pleasant experience isn’t it?? Who told this? None other than Stephen Hawking in his book THE BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME.

The cover story is that NASA recently found a massive black hole called as NGC 1277 in the constellation Perseus. It is so massive that it has a mass equivalent to 17 billion suns. The black hole’s event horizon-“point where nothing can escape” has a diameter 11 times that of the orbit of Neptune.
Of course this is very, very far away from home and we will not face apocalypse by a black hole absorption. But to be informed, scientist believe the existence of black hole at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy that is hard to detect.

Some scientist believe that black hole open up to new dimensions and space.
Well until we find the technology to face that intense gravitation, any curious guy going near a blackhole………What about him?…… spaghetti will be served in another dimension 😛
